You never know what is around the corner, so here is what to do when life changes
Have you moved house recently? Did you know that this can affect whether your benefits are paid when you need them?
If you move house, you should update your personal details on Your MMT, and let IMI know.
Visit Your MMTMissing or incorrect details can mean that payment of your retirement savings is delayed or even prevented.
If you get married or divorced, or enter into or leave a civil partnership, you may want to change your name or beneficiaries.If this is the case, you should remember to update your Expression of Wish Form on Optimize. This will help the Trustee decide who should receive your Death in Service benefit and the value of your MMT account in the event of your death before you retire.
Simply log into Optimize, click on the 'Pensions' tile, and select 'Complete an Expression of Wish form'.
Visit OptimizeWhen you leave IMI, your contributions and IMI’s contributions to your account will stop. You can leave your account invested in the MMT or transfer it to another pension arrangement. You will still be able to keep track of your account and change your investments online. See Keeping track online for more information.
If you become seriously ill, you might be able to receive your savings early.

Find your local Pensions ContactIf you die while you are working for IMI, your dependants will receive a lump sum of five times your basic pay. The value of your MMT account will also be paid at the discretion of the Trustee. You should complete an Expression of Wish Form to ensure your dependants receive their benefits quickly.
You can nominate someone you would like to receive your death in service benefits in the event that you die. The person you nominate is known as a ‘beneficiary’. This could include family members, dependants, or anyone else you choose. If you die, the Trustee decides who gets your Death in Service benefit and the value of your MMT account, taking your wishes into account.
You can make your choices known by filling out an Expression of Wish Form. This is your way of telling the Trustee who you would like to nominate as a beneficiary if you die. You can choose as many people as you like, and you can update it whenever your circumstances change.
Log into Optimize and click on the 'Pensions' tile.
Complete an Expression of Wish Form.
Keep it up to date if your circumstances change.
